Donna Brown

Donna Brown has lived in Door County for over 20 years, operating her informal studio gallery in beautiful Baileys Harbor, with her husband, Errol, and her children, Elena and Kalen.  Over the years, regulars to her gallery have seen the kids grow up; dogs, cats and chickens come and go; and Donnas work go through many changes.

Although she is an accomplished watercolorist, with signature membership in several watercolor societies, Donna is always looking for new approaches to make unique marks true to her inner vision.  This passion has led her to explore printmaking, as well as extensive experimentation with mixed materials, including encaustics.  Donna Brown aficionados and collectors appreciate her artistic integrity, lured by the certainty that, as an artist, she has the courage to explore different media, new applications and fresh approaches.  As a self taught artist, she realizes discipline, and open mind and sharing knowledge are essential to staying fresh and helps to expand ones perspective.

Donna is a patient and inspiring teacher and has taught a range of workshops for children and adults.  Her work has won awards in many juried shows and can be found in various public collections including the Miller Art Museum, Door County Memorial Hospital, Marshfield Clinic, Wausau Library, Appleton VA Hospital and Northwest Mutual Insurance.  For many years Donna actively exhibited her work in national and regional art shows and therefore has many fans in distant locations.   She continues to show her work in local shows and at her studio.

Donna divides her time between Mexico and the U.S. these days, and loves observing the beauty and boundlessness of nature in both locales.  She loves seeing her summer birds in their winter vacations in the south and has begun incorporating them into her imagery.  Check out new images and happenings on Facebook as Donna Brown White Barn Gallery.
