Fine Line Designs Gallery in scenic Door County features original paintings, sculpture, jewelry, custom wood furnishings, along with stone, metal, wood and glass sculpture and fiber art deep in color and texture. Unique, original gifts and collectible artworks are found indoors and out. Located on Ephraim's north end, the gallery exhibits the work of more than 90 renowned artists.

Kathie Wheeler

Kathie Wheeler views the world through the eyes of an artist.  Her desire to create was nutrtured early on. Kathie was born in 1962 and was raised in the Chicago area. As a young child, she was drawn to the spirit of the Hudson River School of Artists and the American Impressionists who took to the fields and woods with their sketchbooks and paints to record the beauty of their surroundings. As a young woman, she studied at the American Academy of Art, where she won the prestigious Union Art League Scholarship Competition, then worked as a freelance commercail artist and portrait artist.

Kathie creates remarkable landscapes and portraits and works primarily with a rich oil palette, but also enjoys dabbling in pastel, watercolor and drawing with conte', charcoal, pencil and ink.  She paints plein air throughour the year, as well as working in the studio, and teaches drawing and painting in the Middle and High Schools as well as adult classes.

 Kathie, her husband and two children live on a small farm in southwest Wisconsin.  Her paintings reflect the experience of her life in the valley in the way that only someone who has lived and worked the land here can.  "I try to put the feeling or emotion I see in a place or person on the canvas.  My hope is that the viewer can take some of that away with them."

Gallery reception for local artist Ram Rojas with a performance by  Milwaukee's premiere swing band, Swing Nouveau.  The 15 piece big band orchestra will swing your socks off with danceable, high-energy, jump & swing tunes of the 30 ’s, 40 ’s, 50's, & 90's.  Hors de oeuvres catered by Alexander’s of Door County. Tickets are $50 per person with all the proceeds benefiting The Door County Land Trust.  Reception and concert, 5-8pm. Advanced tickets available

Jewelry Trunk Show - July 19th

Barbara Bosco presents a variety of jewelry unlike any other.  Her one of a kind pieces are hand-crafted from the winged jewels of Mother Nature….butterfly wings and moths.  All objects she uses are naturally expired, and the jewelry she creates shows a symbolism of rebirth and regeneration. Her jewelry is set in sterling silver or 14k gold and are considered fantastic jewels of natures.

Door County Plein Air Festival July 22nd, 11-2pm

The gallery will host artists Tom Maakestad, Lori Beringer, Diane Arenberg, Ann Powell and others as they demonstrate and paint onsite. Luncheon hors d’oeuvres served. Free and open to the public.
