Pat King
Pat King, a native of Gurnee, Illinois, has always been interested in watercolor as a painting medium. Raised in the country instilled an interest in the God given beauty nature provides. Her paintings depict this beauty through the use of clear, transparent colors and a strong use of detail and also reflect the beauty of the forests and flowers of the mountains and prairies. They range from the lighthouses of North America to the rustic buildings and landscapes of America.
Pat has studied with Phil Austin, Irving Shapiro, Nita Engle, and other well known artists. Her most recent awards include one by the nations largest supplier of art materials Windsor & Newton and their 1998 contest “Artist’s Watercolor Goes on Vacation”. Courage Cards of Minnesota has selected her work for the second time to be nationally published for 1999. Lake Forest Hospital for their 100th Anniversary chose her work for their 1999 Christmas card.
Pat’s paintings hang in many private, nonprofit, and corporate collections in the United States, Ireland, and Australia. |
