I have spent most of my career in the commercial art field involved with business to business marketing communications. I’d always enjoyed and appreciated that side of my life and career. However, a few years back I became interested in the process of representational fine art. In a quest for more information, I began by attending a few workshops. It wasn’t until I was told about and started instruction at The Kewaunee Academy of Fine Art that I received the answers to questions I was looking for. I am still asking questions and still receiving answers. In a short period of time, what started as a quest for information turned into a passion to paint.
I am a southeastern Wisconsin native. It’s there I attendedLayton School of Art and Design and lat
ermarried. In 1978 we moved to Northeastern Wisconsin and raised our family. During that time I worked in several advertising agencies. Starting as a designer, then worked into art directorships, then over the years into creative director positions. In 1985 I became a freelance commercial illustrator and designer and had won numerous awards for both.
During and after my stay at The Kewaunee Academy of Fine Art, I’ve completed workshops and studied under Wende Caporale, Bonnita Budysz, Craig Blietz, Ken DeWaard, Everett Raymond Kinstler and Roberta Remy. I've had my work accepted into the recent book ‘Strokes of Genius the best of drawing’, byNorth Light Books, Cincinnati, Ohio.
