Born in Madison, Wisconsin and has lived most of his life in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area, where he now has maintained an artist's studio for more than Twenty years.  For several years he painted in the American southwest at Tucson, Arizona.

Mr. Patt is a self-taught painter who worked in the watercolor medium.  Having thoroughly explored this difficult medium, he made the decision a few yearsago to paint mostly in acrylics because of the broad ranges of painting it allows, including very large formats.  He also appreciates the quick drying timethat acrylics afford.
