This abstract garden painting is similar to the large scale commissions that I created for both Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago, IL and Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge, IL. Poppies are a symbol of Morpheus, the Greek god of dreams. If you observe a poppy in its process of growth you may notice just before blooming the bud hangs its head - heavy with the promise of blossom. In fact the cocooned bud seems
to drop in somnolence as if enchanted, or perhaps the bud is pregnant with floral dreams. Honeybees use poppies as a pollen source. Layers of paint and surface manipulation techniques were used to create an electric atmosphere as if honeybees are present and pollinating. Maintaining my own pesticide free honeybee and butterfly garden has been a source of inspiration for my artwork. Being a certified yoga and Reiki (hands on healing) practitioner contribute significantly to the tranquility felt in my oil paintings. Having commissioned paintings in several hospitals in order to uplift the energy is a great honor and a perfect fit. My abstract landscapes can be used as a focal point to bring any interior into harmony and give your visitors something to admire and appreciate.
