Ann Powell
When traveling, I’m always on the lookout for a compelling landscape. I try to capture the fleeting moments of twilight, the sky just before a storm or the wet earth after it rains. Painting places where I’ve been gives me a chance to study and enjoy those images all over again.
Nature is my inspiration. I try to give an honest impression of the light, color, and contour of the land that I see.
Ann Powell was educated at the Layton School of Art, the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, and the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design.
Her paintings celebrate nature, and specifically the landscape. She is a colorist, and her paintings reflect the mood and light of the moment.
